HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Coach Settle’s volleyball squad show plenty of heart and soul Wednesday night but came up short in their league opener against the University of Saint Francis, 25-27, 20-25, 25-16, 23-25.
Katie Bowers came up big at the net to finish with 13 kills, combining power and well-placed hits to keep the Cougars guessing. Melissa Grossman added 12 kills and Kaylee Searles tallied 16 digs to lead the Foresters defensively.
Jensen Carnahan and Codie Morey teamed up to direct the offense, finishing with 27 and 17 assists respectively.
The Foresters (0-6) are back in action Friday when they travel to Grace College for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
