HU split a pair of matches at the Manchester College Tri-Match winning 3-1 over Transylvania and falling 3-1 to the host Spartans.
In the first match, Transylvania jumped out to an 18-12 lead, but the Foresters picked up their intensity after a timeout and came back to win the game 30-28. HU took game two 30-25, but then were tripped up 30-26 in game three. HU buried the Pioneers in game four with the 30-19 win to close out the match. Tiffany Malfait had a huge impact at the net for the Foresters. She led the team with 17 kills and seven blocks. Kellie Hanson had 46 assists and added 18 digs and Stephanie Stearns led the team with 24 digs.
Against Manchester match, HU struggled with consistency throughout the match. The Spartans were able to take advantage of too many free balls and out-hustled the Foresters on defense. Manchester won the match 30-26, 30-25, 16-30, 30-24. Renee Biberstine led the team with 15 kills and added 24 digs. Amy Wilson contributed 14 kills, two blocks and 27 digs. Hanson dished out 41 assists and Stearns recorded 34 digs.
With the split, the Foresters move to 15-9 on the season.
