Foresters wrap up season with loss to Cougars

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Forester volleyball team wrapped up its season with a 3-1 loss, 25-10, 25-20, 24-26, 26-24, to Spring Arbor University Wednesday evening. With this loss, HU finishes the year with an overall record of 4-23 and a 2-16 record in conference play.

Things didn’t start well for Huntington as they tallied only ten points in the opening set. The Foresters doubled their point production in the second set but the hole they’d dug themselves in proved to be too much to overcome as they battled back to win set three but then fell to the Cougars in the fourth and final set to stymie a heroic finish.

Melissa Grossman paced HU’s offense with ten kills while Heather Medich and Brittany Rooze finished with nine and eight kills respectively. Codie Morey dished out 30 assists and recorded a team-high four blocks. She also added four kills on five swings for a .600 hitting percentage. Katie Bowers led HU defensively with 13 digs.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
