GENEVA, Ohio - Senior Joseph Herber and the women’s distance medley relay team outran their respective seeds on day one of the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Herber, who entered the race as the 21st seed, wrapped up his indoor career with a 19th place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:17.80.
The freshmen trio of Erin Rockey, Racquel Service and Gretchen Spahr teamed up with sophomore Cendall Ogle to run a 12:43.83, nearly ten seconds off their qualifying time, for an 18th place finish in the distance medley relay. This quartet entered the Championships as the 32nd seed.
The Foresters now shift focus to their outdoor season where they are slated to compete in their first meet over spring break at the Wake Forest University Open on March 16-17.
