Foresters open up indoor season at Ohio Northern

The Forester men's and women's track teams competed at the Ohio Northern University Invitational and placed fourth and fifth respectively in the team standings.

In women's action, Michelle Kyler established a new Huntington record in the pole vault by going 10-06.00 to finish third. The previous record, held by Kyler, was 10-00.00. The only other Forester to place in the top three of her event was Gaynel Mullings, who was third in the 400 with a time of 1:07.97.

Ohio Northern won the event with a team score of 206 followed by Findlay (171), Indiana Tech (116), Adrian (48), HU (32) and Bluffton (31).

On the men's side, Todd Fiedler had a strong showing to lead HU. He won triple jump with a jump of 41-05.00. He also finished third in long jump with a leap of 19-11.00. Joseph Herber brought home a first place finish in the 5000 with a time of 16:08.67. Other top three finishers were Ethan Medley, who has second in the 1000 with a time of 2:39.58 and Alec Rosario, who was third in the 3000 with a time of 9:32.52.

The University of Findlay finished first with a team score of 192 followed by Ohio Northern (168), Indiana Tech (119), HU (74), Adrian (66) and Bluffton (23).
