The Forester track squad competed at the Emory University Invitational to open their outdoor season. The men finished seventh of thirteen teams while the women were ninth in a field of twelve.
In women's action, Kelsey Green paced the Foresters with three top ten finishes. She placed second in the discus with a toss of 121-09. She finished sixth in the hammer with a throw of 85-10 and seventh in shot put with a mark of 30-03.00. Other top eight finishers included Michelle Kyler in pole vault (3rd, 9-04.25), Mariah Town in long jump (5th, 15-07.50) and the 400 meters (8th, 1:03.40), Josann Schoeff in the 100 meters (6th, 13.09) and the 200 meters (6th, 27.05) and Molly Shirey in the 1000 meters (8th, 44:41.43).
On the men's side, Luke Diehl won the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:41.55. Todd Fiedler turned in three fourth place finishes in the javelin (165-07), long jump (21-00.00) and triple jump (45-03.50). Other top eight finishers included Kam Bailey in the 200 meters (4th, 22.65), Joseph Herber in the 10,000 meters (5th, 33:03.47), Sean LaFontaine in the 400 meter hurdles (6th, 56.82) and Joel Thatcher in shot put (8th, 36-09.00).
