Three Huntington College track and field athletes competed in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tenn. While none of the three made it to the finals of their respective events, all three gained valuable experience competing against the top runners in the NAIA.
Brittany Fillman, a sophomore English education major from Markle, Ind. (Norwell High School), who qualified in the 600 meter run, finished 9th out of 22 runners in her event. She posted a time of 1:37.50 in the prelims, which was two seconds faster than her qualifying time of 1:39.75.
Joel Sanders, a freshman elementary education major from Fort Wayne, Ind. (Snider High School), competed in the men's 1000 meter race. His time of 2:34.23 in the prelims was the 14th best time in the field of 18.
Cody Hannie, a sophomore English education major from Fort Wayne, Ind. (Snider High School), ran in the 3000 meter run. He finished 36th with a time of 9:32.71.
