A handful of Foresters competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Qualifier meet on Thursday, May 14, 2005. Originally, the men's 4x800 relay was to run for a chance to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, but due to illness of one team member, the relay was unable to compete. Instead, three men and one lady participated in individual events for the Foresters.
Cody Hannie won the men's 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.08 while teammate Joseph Waithira finished eighth in the same event at 2:05.12. David St. Louis ran to a second-place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:11.36.
For the ladies, Lisa Isabelli threw an 11-foot personal record in the hammer throw. Seeded seventh in the event, her throw of 137-02 placed her fourth. Her distance lands her the third-farthest throw for the Foresters all-time in that event.
Hannie and teammate Joel Sanders have qualified to the National Championships in the 800 meter run. The Championships will be held May 26-28 in Louisville, Ky.
