Ten student-athletes to be honored

Huntington, Ind.—Huntington College’s chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society, will conduct its fifth annual induction ceremony on Sunday, April 8 at 3:00 p.m. on the upper level of the Habecker Dining Commons. This year's inductees are:

Bruce L. Bergdall, a senior Elementary Education major from Huntington, IN. (Track)

Amy M. Brown, a junior Elementary Education major from Roann, IN (Softball)

Gregory C. Byrum, a junior Math Education major from Twelve Mile, IN (Cross Country)

Russell J. Degitz, a junior History Education major from Fort Wayne, IN (Baseball)

Jennifer M. Echert, a senior Accounting major from Oneida, KY (Softball)

Andrew J. Kurzen, a junior Graphic Design major from Massmillon, OH (Basketball)

Jennie L. Mach, a senior Exercise Science major from Milbank, SD (Cross Country/Track)

Brooke L. Owens, a junior Business Economics major from Kokomo, IN (Tennis)

Jordan S. Phillips, a junior Chemistry/ Pre-Med major from Mansfield, OH (Soccer)

Timothy D. Thompson, a senior Business Management major from Bluffton, OH (Soccer)

Induction into Chi Alpha Sigma requires that a student-athlete must have achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, have earned a varsity letter, have been certified as a junior or senior academically and athletically, and be of high moral character. “These ten individuals represent the finest student-athletes on campus,” said Lori Culler, athletic director.

Huntington College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 sports for men and women.
