Ward, Bateman named MCC All-Conference

 The Mid-Central Conference (MCC) has announced its softball post-season awards for the 2008 spring season. Four Huntington University Foresters were among the list of honorees.

Forester softball pitcher, Lauren Ward, was named to the All-Conference First Team for the third consecutive year. She was joined by sophomore shortstop Brittney Bateman, a first-time selection. Bethel College swept the individual awards with Katie Boocher being named Player of the Year, Brittney Hire, Pitcher of the Year and Anna Welsh, Coach of the Year. Huntington junior Brittany Gower and senior Kendra Stahl were both Honorable Mention All-Conference selections.

The remaining members of the First Team were Lindsay Arnold (Taylor), Christi Church (Indiana Wesleyan), Kaitlyn Dubois (Bethel), Brittney Fisher (Bethel), Katrina Neufeld (Spring Arbor), Mallory Ortwein (Marian), Autumn Palik (Spring Arbor), Heather Piper (Marian), Sarah Rassi (Bethel), Jessica Slayton (Marian), Amanda Teegardin (Marian), Leigh Wells (St. Francis), Morgan Wheeler (Indiana Wesleyan) and Erica Yoder (Taylor).
