McDougle earns Forester Athlete of the Week honors

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of March 11-17, 2013. Pitcher Marcie McDougle earned the honor for her outstanding performance over the weekend.

Junior Marcie McDougle (Paulding, Ohio, Wayne Trace HS) scattered six hits and allowed two runs, one earned, in a complete game 6-2 victory in the Foresters’ season opener against the Bearcats of Brescia University (Ky). She was sensational on the mound, throwing just 76 pitches, striking out three and issuing no walks.

The Foresters (2-0) went on to win the nightcap by the identical score of 6-2. They are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Manchester University for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
