Huntington, Ind. - For the second time this season, Huntington University junior, Molly Long, was named the softball Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 4-10.
Long, a business management major from Logansport, Indiana (Logansport High School), recorded four wins on the week to keep the Foresters’ perfect season intact at 14-0. Her first two wins came at the expense of Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday and included a four-hit shutout. She went on to grab a win over Taylor University on Thursday and then finished the week with a no-hitter on Saturday against Olivet College.
For the week she had a 1.08 ERA allowing five runs on 18 hits and seven walks while striking out 32. She currently sits atop the NAIA in total earned runs allowed (2) and total runs allowed (3). She also ranks No. 2 in the NAIA in earned run average (.340) and runs allowed per game (.429).
The Foresters return to action on Tuesday, April 5, when they travel to Bethel College for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m.
