The Foresters played in the Trinity International University tournament on the weekend and dropped all three games. On Friday, HU fell 11-3 to Judson College and on Saturday, the Foresters lost 4-0 to Trinity Christian College and lost 4-2 to the host Trojans.
Against Judson, HU owned a 3-1 lead after two at-bats, but the Eagles scored five in their half of the second to take the lead and added two more in the third and three in the fourth to bring the game to an early conclusion at 11-3. Judson racked up 14 hits in the game to just six for the Foresters. Kendra Stahl had two hits, including a double, to lead the Foresters. Rebekah Gumbiner took the loss for HU allowing 11 runs on 14 hits and a walk while striking out three.
Lauren Ward took the mound against Trinity Christian on Saturday and struck out 10 of the first 11 batters she faced and finished with 14 strikeouts for the game, but again, she got no help from her offense in the 4-0 shut out. The Foresters scattered four hits over the seven innings.
In the Foresters' final game of the weekend, Trinity International scored five runs in the second and HU could never recover as they fell 5-2. Stahl went three innings in the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk. Ward came on in relief in the fourth and held the Trojans to one hit while striking out six.
After the weekend, the women fall to 6-21 on the season.
