Huntington, Ind. - The Forester softball team has inked its first recruit for the 2012 season with the signing of Marian High School standout Ariel Sheets.
Sheets, a starting pitcher for the Knights since her freshman year, enters the final season of her prep career with 52 wins, just two wins shy of the Marian school record. This three-time Northern Indiana Conference pick guided her team to a sectional championship this past spring and for her efforts was named Third Team All-State.
Over the course of Sheets’ career, she has led the Knights to seven tournament championships including the Caveman Classic where she was named the tournament MVP.
She has also made a name for herself in the offseason by helping pitch her summer teams to numerous championships. She is a three-time member of the District 11 Big League Team and led her team to a fourth place finish in the Little League World Series in the summer of 2009.
Sheets is the daughter of Thomas and Carri Sheets of South Bend, Indiana.
