Foresters blanked by Madonna

Madonna University's pitching effectively shut down the Forester offense in their 4-0 and 12-0 sweep of HU. In the opener, HU managed five hits and in the nightcap, just three against the Crusader pitching staff.

Despite striking out 12 Madonna batters in game one, Lauren Ward got no support from her offense and took the loss for HU. She allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk. Keri Badenhop and Kaley Fode each had a double for HU.

In game two, five errors hampered the Foresters' defensive effort while the offense struggled to come up with baserunners. Madonna put six on the scoreboard in the first, added another in the second and five more in the third to easily dispose of the Foresters. Ashley Scally was the pitcher of record for HU. She gave up six runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one in an inning or work. Kendra Stahl accounted for two of the Foresters' three hits in the game.

The Foresters (11-28, 6-10) finished seventh in the MCC regular season standings and will take on #2 seeded Bethel College on Wednesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the first round of the double elimination MCC Tournament at Indiana Wesleyan.
