HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Head coach Doug

Gower and the Huntington University softball team have announced the latest addition to the 2013-14 Forester roster with the signing of Worthington Christian standout Caylan De Lucia.
With her final campaign yet to come, De Lucia has logged some impressive stats during her time as a Warrior. For her career, she has posted a .370 career batting average. Of her 170 hits, just over 40 percent have gone for extra bases which includes 11 home runs, 12 triples and 47 doubles.
As a freshman, De Lucia earned Second Team All-League honors and received her team’s “Best Rookie” award. Last year the Second Team All-District Central Ohio catcher picked off over 65 percent of her opponents attempting to steal.
When not in season for WCHS, De Lucia has stayed active in the summer circuit, playing for the 14U and 16U Turbos teams in her earlier years before joining the 18U and 23U Central Ohio Ice teams most recently. In addition to tallying nine MVP ribbons at various summer tournaments, she has also helped guide her teams to nationals on two different occasions.
Caylan is the daughter of John and Tammy De Lucia of Worthington, Ohio.
