The Foresters put together another strong outing to blow away the Goshen College Maple Leafs 8-1. HU swept the singles, and then picked up two of three doubles matches en route to the win. The toughest matches of the day came at #1 and #2 singles where Tyler Moore and Mitchell McDonald each were extended to three sets. Moore came from behind for the 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win and McDonald went 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. At #3, Daron Short won 6-1, 6-4, Brian Lambright followed with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at #4, Jason Stump went 6-3, 6-1 at #5 and Adam Widener cruised to the 6-1, 6-2 victory at #6.
In doubles play, Moore and Lambright got the 8-4 win at #1 and Stump and McDonald got the 8-0 shutout at #3.
“I was happy with the way we played today,” said Coach Turner. “We usually struggle when we get behind, but Tyler, Mitchell and Daron all came through after trailing.”
With the win, the men move above .500 to 3-2 on the season and 2-2 in the MCC.
