Huntington, Ind. - Huntington University has announced that Kreg Eckert will join the Forester coaching staff as head coach of the men’s tennis program.
Eckert brings six years of coaching experience to the Forester program, having served as the boys’ and girls’ head coach at Bethalto Community High School. A state finalist during his high school days, he continues to play tennis competitively and will look to combine his past coaching experience and playing expertise to carry on the program’s winning ways.
“We are excited to have Kreg join our coaching staff,” said HU Athletic Director Lori Culler. “He has been very successful at a variety of levels and brings a great enthusiasm for the sport to HU. His tennis experience and knowledge give him the tools to build on the program’s solid foundation and to help the program continue to progress to the next level. We’re looking forward to having Kreg and his family join the HU community.”
Eckert graduated from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale City with a BS in Geology in 1983. He is currently a regional sales manager at Tennant Company. He, his wife Angi and kids Justin, Jessica, Isaac and Anna reside in Huntington, Indiana.
