Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3. Women’s soccer freshman Bethany McGraw and men’s soccer junior Joel Sanders earned the honors for their excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.
Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Perrysburg, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), recorded her first hat trick in just the third contest of her young career. The freshman’s three goals were more than enough to lift Huntington to the 4-1 victory over Franklin College. The Foresters now stand 2-1 on the season and take the field again against Manchester College on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 4 p.m.
Joel Sanders, an elementary education major from Fort Wayne, Ind. (Snider High School), helped the Foresters earn a victory in their home opener against Franklin College. Sanders netted two goals to lead Huntington to the 3-1 win over the Grizzlies and push the Foresters’ record to 2-1 on the season. HU will next travel to Michigan to take on Rochester College on Sept. 8 at 4 p.m.
