Huntington, Ind. - The MCC homeopener didn't go quite as planned for the Forester men's soccer as the Lancers of Grace College handed them a 5-0 shutout on Saturday afternoon.
It didn't take long for the Lancers to take control as Nikola Blazic found the back of the net at the 12:40 mark. Grace knocked in another 25 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into intermission. The second half didn't prove to be any kinder to HU as the Lancers logged three more goals to cruise to the convincing win.
The Lancers dominated possession, outshooting the Foresters 27-10. HU keeper Drew Mattingly took the loss and finished with six saves.
The Foresters drop to 2-6-1 on the season, 0-1 in conference play. They are back in action on Wednesday when they host Mount Vernon Nazarene at 4:00 p.m.
