After battling through two extra periods, the Forester men's soccer
team ended in a 2-2 deadlock with Anderson University.
Things didn't start out well for HU as they spotted the Ravens two goals through the first 49 minutes of play but Derek Ressler brought new life to the Foresters when he won a 50/50 ball and bent one around the keeper to trim Anderson's lead to one. James Parker's first collegiate goal couldn't have come at a better time as he slotted one past the keeper at the 60:48 mark to knot the score at 2-2 and force the game to overtime. While each team generated several scoring opportunities in the extra 20 minutes of play, neither team could find the back of the net as the game came to an uneventful end.
The Foresters held a slight 13-12 advantage in shots taken. Drew Mattingly started out in goal while Chris Fox assumed keeper duties in the second half and overtime periods. Each keeper finished with two saves.
Huntington is back in MCC action on Saturday when they host Taylor University at 3:00 p.m. as part of the Homecoming activities.
