HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Huntington University men’s bask
etball team has added a local product to its roster for next season with the signing of Huntington North High School student-athlete Kalvin Miller.
With two regular season game to play, the 6’4 shooting guard is averaging 11.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists each night. He is deadly from the perimeter, having knocked down 51 threes this season at a clip of 47.7 percent.
Miller has a long standing reputation from behind the arc having tickled the twine for 132 triples in his career which places him atop the Viking records books for career 3-pointers. He is also on pace to stake claim to HNHS’s career 3-point field goal percentage. He is currently shooting 46.9 percent from deep for his career.
As a junior, Miller’s name was splattered throughout the Viking record books. He set the program record for 3-point field goal percentage in a single season (48.1 %), posted the second most threes in a single season (52) and claimed the No. 2 spot in HNHS history for field goal percentage in a single season (63.9%).
Coach Ty Platt looks forward to Miller’s contributions to his squad, “We are excited that Kalvin is going to be a Forester. He is a very good outside shooter and a player that still has his best years in front of him.
