HUNTINGTON, IND. - Huntington University senior forward, Caleb Kennedy, was named the Mid-Central Conference Player of the Week for the week of January 9-15, 2012.
Kennedy, a business management major from Charlottesville, Ind. (Eastern Hancock High School), was the No. 22nd-ranked Foresters’ leading scorer in a trio of wins this past week. Kennedy began the week with 19 points and nine rebounds in an 84-76 upset over the previously 6th-ranked Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan University.
He followed that up with 23-points, a career best 19 rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocks and steals in HU’s 76-67 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He capped off his stellar week with 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in an 81-71 win over the Spring Arbor University Cougars on Saturday.
Kennedy currently leads the MCC in double doubles (8), total rebounds (164) and rebounds per game (9.1). He ranks second in league scoring with his 20.3 points per game.
