Huntington, Ind. - Holding Lourdes College (11-15) to a season-low 38 points, the #22 HU men's basketball team (17-6) cruised to a 72-38 victory over the Gray Wolves in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
The Foresters were on the fast track to a blowout as they held the Gray Wolves scoreless for the first seven minutes of play to push ahead 14-0. HU continued to dominate on both ends of the floor, limiting Lourdes to five field goals in the first twenty minutes while knocking down 52.4 percent of their field goals and cashing in on 9-of-10 free throws to build a 34-16 lead by intermission. Tyler Shively and Caleb Kennedy led the first half charge with nine points each.
Kennedy picked up where he left off to start the second half by scoring nine of the Foresters' first 14 points to widen the gap to 48-18 with 15 minutes left in the contest. Bobby Jolliff then carried the Foresters home, scoring 11 of the final 23 points to balloon the lead to as many as 42 before claiming the 34-point victory.
Kennedy led all scorers with 18 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Jolliff came off the bench to finish with 15. Charles Turnbo was the lone Gray Wolf in double digits with 10 points.
For the game, the Foresters shot 59.1 percent (26-for-44) while Lourdes went 14-for-47 for 29.8 percent. HU won the rebounding battle 31-22. Both teams took care of the ball with Huntington committing 10 turnovers to the Gray Wolves' 11. Box Score
