Ault headed to HuntingtonHUNTINGTON, IN— Huntington University men’s basketball coach Ty Platt has announced that Carroll High School playmaker Tyler Ault has signed his letter of intent to attend Huntington University. Ault is the second high profile player to commit to HU for the 2011-12 season.

As a junior Ault averaged 14.4 points and 2.5 assists per game to help lead his team to a Regional Championship. This two-time First Team All-NHC conference pick shot 55.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from behind the arc last season for the 21-3 Chargers. His success on the court led to numerous post season honors which included being named a 2010 Junior All Star and 3A-4A Class All Star. Ault has also been named to the IBCA/IHSAA top 100 Underclassmen Showcase for the past two seasons.

"We are very excited that Tyler is going to be a Forester. To be able to sign someone of Tyler’s caliber this early in the fall of his senior year is fantastic,” commented Coach Platt. "Along with being a very good shooter, he is very fundamental, a good ball handler and a very intelligent player who sees the floor well. We think he will be able to step in and make a significant contribution right away. Tyler has played a lot of great competition throughout his career, that will help him make the transition to college basketball that much quicker.”

During the past decade, the Huntington University men’s basketball program has won five Mid-Central Conference (MCC) titles, five MCC tournament titles, and has had seven NAIA National Tournament appearances, including two Final Fours and a National Runner-Up finish in 2006. Over the 10-year span, the program has also produced 12 NAIA All-Americans and eight MCC Players of the Year.
