Huntington, Ind.— Huntington College has recently been recognized as an NAIA Champions of Character Institution by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the NAIA Character Committee and the National Office.
The NAIA Champions of Character program strives to create an environment in which every NAIA student-athlete, coach, official and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through five tenets: respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship. NAIA special presenter Bruce Brown stated, “We want our athletic events to be so different they are noticeable, and so different they are appealing.”
The NAIA introduced its “Champions of Character” initiative in 2000 and seeks to emphasize character development in NAIA student-athletes and youth sports.
Huntington College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Foresters compete in 14 sports for men and women and as part of the Mid-Central College Conference.
