MARION, Ind. - After posting a 79 on Friday, Jordan Dawes bounced back to shoot a 72 on day two to finish second overall and guide the Forester golf team to a second place finish at the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcat Invitational at Meshingomesia Country Club.
Sitting in third place after round one, the Foresters turned in the day’s low round of 306 on Saturday to slide in front of Holy Cross for second. HU finished with a 619 (313, 306).
Mickey Belt fired a 153 (77, 76) to finish in a four-way tie for fourth. Devin Dale was four strokes behind with a 157 (77, 80). Josh Teulker finished with a 162 (80, 82) while Matt Wilson was right behind him with a 163 (85, 78).
Taylor took top honors with a 613 followed by HU (619), Holy Cross (627), Indiana Wesleyan (633), Grace (635), Saint Francis (643), Trinity Christian (644), Olivet Nazarene (650) and Siena Heights (669).
The Foresters return to action on April 9-10 when they compete in the NAIA Classic hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University at the Brickyard Crossing in Indianapolis.
