After finishing the first day with a two shot lead over the second place team, the Foresters couldn't hold off Saint Francis on day two and finished second of nine teams.
For Friday's round, the Foresters shot a 317 and were two strokes ahead of Spring Arbor, but Saint Francis blew away the field with a 306 on Saturday to claim the title. The Cougars shot a 626 for the win and HU ended with a 634 for second followed by Spring Arbor (643), Bethel (653), Aquinas (662), Calumet and Grace (670), Holy Cross (681) and Goshen (729).
Jordan Dawes (77, 81) and Mickey Belt (81, 77) paced the Foresters as they both posted a 158 total. Josh Teulker had a 159 (79, 80), Cory Powell finished with a 161 (80, 81) and Matt Wilson added a 163 (84, 79).
The Foresters are back in action today and tomorrow at the Taylor University Invitational at Kampen Golf Course, West Lafayette, Ind.
