Belt earns Forester Athlete of the Week honors


HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of September 24-30, 2012. Men's golf senior Mickey Belt earned the honor for his outstanding effort this past weekend.

Belt, a Monticello, Indiana (Twin Lakes H.S.), shot a one-under-par 143 (71, 72) at Spring Arbor University's Bill Bockwitz Invitational to bring home medalist honors and lead the Foresters to a first place finish out of a field of 13 teams. As a team, HU shot a 590 (286, 304), 17 strokes ahead of its nearest competitor.
 The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
