Spahr named Crossroads Runner of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Huntington University sophomore Gretchen Spahr (Huntington, Ind., Huntington North High School) was named Crossroads League Runner of the Week for the week of September 17-23, 2012, for her outstanding efforts at the Indiana Intercollegiates this past weekend.

Competing against 214 athletes representing 26 different schools, eight of which were NCAA Division I institutions, Spahr ran a 19:18 good for a 40th place finish overall and a ninth place finish among the non-NCAA Division 1 competition.

As a team HU placed 12th out of 26 teams. Among the Little State competition which included 18 non-Division I schools, Huntington finished fifth with 107 points. The Foresters have a two-week break before competing in the Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
