The Foresters competed in the MCC tournament over the weekend with the men placing fourth and the women finishing eighth.
The HU men placed four runners in the top twenty to finish fourth with 87 points. Joseph Njeri led the Foresters with his ninth place finished in 27:09. Running in his first race of the season, Luke Diehl earned a 14th place finish with his 27:36 time. Ethan Medley crossed in 27:47 for a 16th place while Alex Rosario finished right behind him in 27:48 for 17th place. Lance Wood rounded out HU's scoring with a 31st place finish in 28:29.
Other runners for HU were Nathan Rupp (32nd, 28:38), Matt Bittner (61st, 29:54), Isaiah Laatsch (65th, 30:11), Daniel Becker (71st, 30:35), Alan Huffman (85th, 31:54), Nathan Barnett (86th, 31:54) and Dave Boyer (92nd, 32:40).
Njeri's ninth place finish earned him MCC All-Conference honors for the fourth time in his collegiate career.
Marian won the men's team title with a score of 38 followed by Taylor (58), Indiana Wesleyan (76), HU (87), Spring Arbor (102), Goshen (150), Bethel (172) and Saint Francis (252).
On the women's side, the Foresters finished eighth with a score of 188. Lauren Johnson paced HU with a 2nd place finish in 18:38. Krystal McHenry crossed in 21:59 for a 41st place finish. Bradie Vance was 44th in 22:16, Molly Shirey posted a 22:34 for 47th place and Joanna Stebing was 54th in 23:58.
Other runners for HU were Abbey Wise (61st, 25:58) and Emilee Green (62nd, 29:11).
Johnson's 2nd place finish qualified her for the NAIA National meet on November 21 in Vancouver, Washington. Her finish also secured her MCC All-Conference honors.
Spring Arbor University won the women's team title with a score of 30 followed by Indiana Wesleyan (69), Bethel
(84), Taylor (104), Goshen (146), Grace (158), Marian (187), HU (188) and Saint Francis (230).
