Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8. Women’s cross country senior Emily Holliday and men’s cross country sophomore Nick Johnson earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Emily Holliday, a mathematics education major from Van Wert, Ohio (Van Wert High School), helped lead the Foresters to victory in the E. DeWitt Baker Invitational with her second place finish. She shaved 55 seconds off her previous best time of the season with her 19:58 time. The Foresters will compete for the Mid-Central Conference Championship at Indiana Wesleyan University on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
Nick Johnson, an exercise science major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), helped make it a Huntington sweep of the E. DeWitt Baker Invitational with his third place finish in the 8K race. His time of 26:10 was a personal best since donning the Forester uniform. Huntington will compete for the Mid-Central Conference Championship at Indiana Wesleyan University on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m.
