Herber receives MCC Runner of the Week honors

Huntington, Ind. - Huntington University senior Joseph Herber (Fremont, Indiana, Fremont High School) was named Mid-Central Conference (MCC) Runner of the Week for the week of October 3-9, 2011 for his outstanding efforts at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic this past weekend.

Competing against 285 athletes representing 32 different schools, 15 of which were NCAA Division I institutions, Herber ran to a sixth place finish. He crossed the line in 25:09 to not only establish a new personal best but also record the third fastest 8K time in HU history.

As a team the Foresters placed 17th out of 32 teams. The Foresters are back in action on Saturday when they host the annual E. DeWitt Baker Invitational.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
