The Forester men’s and women's cross country teams competed in the Indiana Intercollegiate meet held at Indiana University on Friday.
In the men's race, HU made a strong showing finishing 8th of 21 teams overall and third of 15 small schools participating in the event. The Foresters were led by Nick Johnson's outstanding fourth place finish in 25:29, which was a new personal best for the senior. Joseph Njeri also ran an excellent race finishing 13th in 25:56 Other HU runners included Dan Lindbloom (58th, 27:16), Luke Diehl (73rd, 27:38), Joseph Herber (83rd, 27:57), Alec Rosario (108th, 28:30), Josh Barnett (138th, 29:47), Luke Andrews (154th, 30:30) and David Boyer (170th, 32:34).
Indiana University won the overall meet with a score of 33 and Indiana Tech was the top small school team with a score of 50.
On the women's side, HU finished 19th overall and 11th in the small school division. Krystal McHenry paced HU with her 104th place finish in 21:57. She was followed by Bradie Vance (111th, 22:11), Britley McConnell (115th, 22:22), Jill Roughia (117th, 22:25), Michelle Kyler (144th, 24:38) and Molly Shirey (151st, 26:46).
Purdue won the women’s championship with a score of 45 and Southern Indiana took the small school title with 129 points.
