The Foresters cross country team competed in the Goshen College Hokum Karem with the men
each winning their respective race.
HU's Alec Rosario and Joseph Herber took top honors in the two-man relay with a combined time of 52:11 with teammates Lance Wood and Nathan Rupp not far behind in third with a 53:05 finish. Isaiah Laatsch and Ethan Medley finished ninth in 56:31 to round out the scoring.
Other Forester runners included Seth Murphy and Josh McIntyre who ran the course in 57:03, Matt Bittner and David Boyer who finished with a time of 57:13 and Daniel Becker and Alan Huffman who crossed the finish line in 59:12. The Foresters won with thirteen points followed by Trine (15), Goshen (17) and Bluffton (--).
In the women's race, Bradie Vance and Cendall Ogle paced the Foresters with a first place finish in 37:54 with teammates Krystal McHenry and Diamond Setterberg right behind them in 38:13. Miranda Boyts and Molly Shirey were sixth in 40:19. HU took top honors with nine points followed by Trine (18), Goshen (19) and Bluffton (34).
"This was a good start for our team," Coach King said. "I was pleased at the consistency of our pace through the repeat miles."
HU's first regular meet will take place next Saturday at the Bowling Green University Bel Brodt Invitational.
