Vancouver, Wash. – For the fifth time in program history, the Huntington University men’s cross country team competed at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships on Saturday held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.
Having been ranked 27th in the final NAIA national poll, the Foresters outran their ranking by finishing 23rd out of 32 teams on Saturday. Joseph Herber paced HU by finishing 36th out of 312 runners with a time of 25:15. Lance Wood crossed the line in 26:05 to finish 96th. Alec Rosario ran to a 114th finish in 26:19.
Brian Menzie came in next for the Foresters in 26:45 to place 148th and Nathan Rupp rounded out HU’s top five with a 180th place finish in 27:10. Other finishers for the Foresters included Ethan Medley (201st, 27:59) and Seth Murphy (206th, 28:40).
The last time the Foresters competed at the NAIA National Championships as a team was in 2008 where they finished 10th. Herber and Rosario were both freshmen on the squad.
