Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University baseball team made their eleventh spring break trip to Daytona Beach, Fla., where they played a total of six games. The Foresters finished the week 4-2 after some of the toughest competition they will see all season.
Spring break lasted from March 17-21. Huntington played Monday thru Friday, with a day off in the middle of the week, on Wednesday. The team spent the day at the beach and relaxing by the pool at the hotel.
The highlight of the trip came when the Foresters defeated NAIA 13th-ranked Ohio Dominican University by a score of 27-2. The Foresters tallied a total of 24 hits in the win.
“We played well as a team and beat some really good teams,” said senior second baseman Austan Kas. “It was important for us to get going in the right direction before we came back and started conference games.”
