HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of October 15–21, 2012. Women’s cross country sophomore Gretchen Spahr earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Over the weekend Spahr, a Huntington native (Huntington North H.S.), paced the 25th-ranked Foresters to a second place finish at the Wilmington College Fall Invitational. Among a field of 340 runners representing 32 different schools, the Biology Pre-Med major finished tenth overall in a season-best time of 18:40.

The Foresters wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they compete in the NAIA Great Lake Challenge hosted by Aquinas College. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
