Scally, McMillen named Forester Athletes of Week

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of April 14-20. Women’s softball junior Ashley Scally and men’s golf freshman Justin McMillen earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week.

Ashley Scally, a recreation and sports ministry major from Santa Cruz, Calif. (Harbor High School), helped lead the Forester softball team to a 5-3 week with three wins on the mound. She pitched a total of 19 innings in the three games and allowed two earned runs on 15 hits and two walks while striking out 15. Scally’s best outing was a three-hit shutout against Manchester College that included five strikeouts. Huntington returns to action on April 22 when they host Purdue North Central at 3 p.m.

Justin McMillen
Justin McMillen, a digital media arts major from Pana, Ill. (Pana High School), had an outstanding individual performance to help the Foresters finish third in their Regional Preview tournament at Rock Hollow Golf Club. He shot a 75 the first day and followed that up with a 72 on the second to post the third-best individual score in the event with a 147. Huntington’s next competition will be the NAIA Region VIII Tournament which will also be held at Rock Hollow Golf Club on April 28-29.
