Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 2-8. Women’s track senior Jill Roughia and men’s basketball sophomore Tyler Shively earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Jill Roughia, a history education major from Bryant, Ind. (Jay County High School), won the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:13.64 at the Taylor University Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Foresters return to action on Feb. 14 when they travel to DePauw University at 11 a.m.
Tyler Shively
Tyler Shively, an accounting major from Columbia City, Ind. (Columbia City High School), averaged 20 points on 69 percent shooting from the field and a perfect 12-12 performance at the free throw line in Huntington’s two games during the week. He scored 13 points on 4-7 shooting from the field and 4-4 at the stripe against Indiana Wesleyan. In Huntington’s 101-95 upset over top-ranked Bethel, he led all scorers in the game with 27 points hitting 7 of 9 field goal attempts and all eight of his free throws. The Foresters (16-10, 5-7) returns to action on Feb. 10 when they travel to Goshen College at 7 p.m.
