Porter named Forester Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of April 8-15, 2013. Men’s golf freshman Rylan Porter earned the honor for his outstanding efforts at the University of Saint Francis Spring Invitational over the weekend.

The Mooresville, Indiana native shot a two-under-par 70 on Friday and turned in a 75 on Saturday to finish with a 145 and pace the Foresters to a third place finish. He carded nine birdies and finished third out of 60 golfers.

As a team, the Foresters shot a 598 (293, 305). They are back in action on Wednesday to compete in the A.C. Eddy Spring Classic hosted by Trine University.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
