Nash named Crossroads Track Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington University sophomore Jake Nash had a record-breaking weekend at the Taylor University Indoor Track & Field Invitational. The Lebanon (Ohio) native set a new HU indoor record in high jump with his first place leap of 6-7 and for his efforts was named this week’s Crossroads Field Athlete of the Week in addition to being named the Forester Athlete of the Week.

Along with setting a new Forester record, he also punched his ticket to the 2014 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships slated for March 6-8 in Geneva, Ohio with his 6-7 leap. 

Nash went on to claim a second top finish on Saturday in triple jump. His jump of 41-11.75 not only landed him a second gold but also found its way into the record books as the second farthest leap in program history.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 39 NAIA All-America honors and 213 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations.
