Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 17-23, 2007. Women’s soccer sophomore Bethany McGraw and men’s tennis senior Tyler Moore earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Toledo, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), scored seven goals and added an assist to help lead the Foresters to a 3-0 week. McGraw had her biggest game of the week against Franklin scoring four goals in the 6-2 win. She added a game-winning goal in overtime against Goshen and netted two and assisted on a third against Davenport. Huntington (5-4-1) returns to action Sept. 25 when they host Indiana Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
Tyler Moore
Tyler Moore, a business management major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), had a strong performance on the tennis courts during the week. He was a double winner in Huntington’s 8-1 win over Manchester, and at the NAIA Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships, Moore, along with teammate Gonzalo Vivas, advanced to the championship match in doubles play. The Foresters (4-3) next travel to Taylor University on Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.
