Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of April 13-19. Women’s track junior Bethany McGraw and men’s tennis freshman Jameel Brenneman earned the honor for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Bethany McGraw, an exercise science major from Toledo, Ohio (Toledo Christian High School), scored 46 points between individual and relay events to lead Huntington to a team win at the Wilmington College Track and Field Invitational. In individual competition, she won the long jump with a leap of 16-06. She was second in the 100 (13.22) and the triple jump (33-10.75) and she was third in the 200 in 26.66. McGraw also anchored both the winning 4x400 relay that finished in 4:04.10 and the fifth place 4x100 relay (56.18). Huntington returns to action on April 24 when they travel to Upland, Ind., for the Mid-Central Conference Championships at 3 p.m.
Jameel Brenneman
Jameel Brenneman, a broadcasting and journalism double major from Saint Marys, Ohio (Memorial High School), won both his singles and doubles matches to help lead the Foresters to a 5-4 win over Cedarville University during the week. Brenneman teamed with his brother Jon for the 8-1 win at #2 doubles and then won 6-3, 6-1 at #3 singles. The men’s tennis team will next host Trine University on April 23 at 4 p.m.
