Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 10-16. Women’s basketball junior Jenna Donaldson and men’s basketball sophomore Kellen Zawadzki earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Jenna Donaldson, an entrepreneurial/small business management major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), repeated as Athlete of the Week after leading the Foresters to two more wins during the week. Donaldson averaged 25 points and 4.5 rebounds as the team’s leading scorer in both games. In Huntington’s 66-65 overtime win over 24th-ranked Aquinas College, she led the team with 22 points and she also chipped in six rebounds three assists and three steals. Donaldson then scored a career-high 28 points, which included a 12-12 performance at the free throw line, to lead the Foresters to a 78-68 victory over Ohio Dominican University. Huntington (5-0) returns to action when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to face the NAIA Division II 6th-ranked Golden Eagles of Cornerstone College on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
Kellen Zawadzki, a business management major from Tipp City, Ohio (Tippecanoe High School), had an outstanding week to help lead Huntington to a 2-1 record. Zawadzki averaged 22.7 points while shooting 65.9% from the field including 10-17 from behind the arc for 58.8%. He also was named to the Ness Bros.-Huntington University Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament team on the weekend after scoring 22 points against both Kuyper College and Cardinal Stritch University. The Foresters (3-3) return to action on Nov. 18 when they host Holy Cross College at 7 p.m.
