Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 3-9. Women’s basketball junior Jenna Donaldson and men’s cross country senior Nick Johnson earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Jenna Donaldson
Jenna Donaldson, an entrepreneurial/small business management major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), had an outstanding week to help Huntington get the season off to a 3-0 start. Donaldson averaged 21.7 points and 7.7 rebounds and was the team’s leading scorer in each of the three games. She began the week with a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds against Indiana Tech on Tuesday. She also was named the Huntington University Tournament MVP after scoring 21 points against Georgetown and 22 in the win over Judson. The Foresters return to action when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., to face the NAIA Division II 24th-ranked Saints of Aquinas College on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
Nick Johnson
Nick Johnson, an exercise science major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), was crowned the Mid-Central Conference cross country champion after out-distancing the field by 15 seconds to win the MCC Championship meet. His winning time of 24:59 matched his personal best and helped lead the Foresters to the program’s fourth Mid-Central Conference title and an automatic berth in the NAIA Cross Country National Championship in Kenoshe, Wis., on Nov. 22.
