Christner named HU Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of March 18-24, 2013. Baseball senior Adam Christner earned the honor for his outstanding effort during the week’s competitions.

An economics and finance major from Topeka, Ind. (Westview HS), Christner paced the Foresters offensively over the weekend against Martin Methodist College. The centerfielder hit .461 in three games with six hits that included a pair of doubles and his third career homer, a 3-run blast over the left field fence. He also scored four runs and drove in three more.

Huntington (0-10) opens up its conference season on Thursday when they travel to the University of Saint Francis for a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
