Randy Neuman receives Staff Member of the Year honor

Huntington, Ind.— Huntington College held its annual appreciation dinner for faculty and staff on Tuesday, May 11, 2004. Many campus community members were recognized for their service to Huntington College, while Randy Neuman was honored with the Staff Member of the Year award.

Neuman, the College’s associate director of library services and director of the United Brethren Historical Center, was chosen by faculty and staff members at Huntington College as the Staff Member of the Year. He has served the College for 22 years and before receiving the award, Dr. G. Blair Dowden recognized him for his resourcefulness, initiative and servant leadership.

“Randy is always courteous, kind and helpful. He has done an outstanding job in the RichLyn Library with the library’s conversion to a new software system,” Dowden said. “He is a great asset to the library and his hard work is very much appreciated.”

Others recognized at the banquet included Dr. Wayne Priest, associate professor ofpsychology, who was selected as the Professor of the Year by the student body and awarded the honor on Forester Night the week prior. Members of the campus community who have served for five years received a Huntington College pin. Those individuals included Susan Akins, Jesse Brown, Patrick Eggleton, Janice Fulbright, Lori Garde, Brent Kuster, Todd Martin, Jule McKanna, Kathleen O’Donnell and Jeffrey Webb.

Plaques for ten years of service were presented to Joseph Bickel, Kris Chafin, Barry Cochran, Darlene Fairchild, Linda Hutchison, Jean Michelson, Joanne Miller and James O’Donnell. An engraved pen and pencil set for 15 years of service were given to Jennie Bixler and Shelia Hacker.

Mike Frame and Linda Urschel were presented an individualized gift for 20 years of service. For 25 years of service, Nancy Rogers was given a desk clock, and for 30 years of service to the College, Paul Michelson and Marlene Schleiffer were presented a Huntington College lamp. Patricia Zezula was recognized for 35 years of service with an individualized gift.
