Illustrator Dennis Jones to speak at RichLyn Library

Huntington, Ind.— The RichLyn Library at Huntington College will present the fourth in its “Focus on Excellence” lecture series on November 28 at 8:00 p.m. The featured speaker will be graphic artist Dennis Jones.

Jones has been a professional illustrator for 23 years. He holds a BFA degree from Southwest Missouri University. He will describe his career as both an illustrator and a man of faith, and share his professional views concerning the art of illustration. A question-answer forum will follow the presentation.

Over the course of his career, Jones has illustrated over 40 books and assorted publishers' book jackets, and he has had a wide variety of other illustration assignments. After achieving success in the secular publishing market, Jones says he felt God's leading to apply his talents in Christian publications. Presently, he is contracted by Patch Toys to illustrate 12-frame tray puzzles. He is also currently under contract to complete a full text Bible for young boys, and he is working on a book cover for Focus on the Family. Jones has had a long-standing Top-10 Zondervon publication, the Read With Me Bible, published in 1993. He has also illustrated a number of other Zondervon titles: Wise Words of the Bible, Kids of the Bible, Miracles of the Bible and Angels of the Bible.

Dennis is the husband of Huntington College professor Karen Jones. They have two teenage children.
