Huntington, Ind. — Parkview Huntington Hospital has been recognized with the 2010 Distinguished Service Award by the Huntington University Foundation. The award was presented at the annual Foundation dinner on Monday, Sept. 27.
Parkview was honored with the award because of its dedication to the greater Huntington community and its support and improvement of the Huntington University nursing program.
“Parkview Huntington Hospital was nominated this year not only for its overall presence in serving the medical needs of Huntington but for its advocacy of a healthy lifestyle and the partnerships it has created with organizations that also work toward the same goal,” said Brooks Fetters, president of the HU Foundation. “We are proud to present Parkview with this honor.”
The Huntington University Foundation established the Distinguished Service Award in 2002 to recognize individuals or organizations that embody the principles associated with the mission of Huntington University. Recipients give substance and credence to the university’s beliefs, serve as effective role models for students and receive recognition for the tremendous contribution they make to the Huntington County community.
